There will be no organised pre- or post-workshop tours. However, Spain offers a wealth of opportunities at relatively affordable prices. Here are some suggestions:
Aragon Pyrenees
Valle de Benasque
Here you can find the highest Mountains of the Pyrenees. Visit the Natural Park Posets – Maladeta. Benasque is a very ancient village and keeps the Pyrenees traditions alive. It is one of the most popular tourist places in the Pyrenees.

National Park Ordesa - Monte Perdido
This is one of the oldest Spanish National Parks. Lakes, mountains, waterfalls, nature and recommended excursions justify this visit.

Nacional Park Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici
Where there are too many lakes to count!. Nature, water and landscape make this a relaxing paradise. The popular “Carros de foc” hiking trail is highly recommended.

Barcelona
One of the most tourist places in Europe and in the Mediterranean. The impressive buildings and the Sagrada Familia are samples of the heritage from Gaudy architecture. The beach, the port, the gothic square, the Olympic area, the Olympic port, the people, the meals, the climate… a lot of reasons to visit the most exciting place in the Mediterranean.

Elsewhere in Spain
Why not visit the incredible (and largely overlooked) Picos de Europa, a dolomite area in Cantabria, the north of Spain. Superb flora, fauna and walking. You could stay in a bed and breakfast in a 500 year-old farmhouse run by two Brits..... They can organise walking tours over the high peaks, climbing or just tell you where to go, where to see the best flora and wildlife, where to eat. http://www.picos-accommodation.co.uk/accommodation-picos-de-europa.html
Or there is the fabulous Andalusia in the south, with its old cities, cathedrals, bull rings, flamenco music..... There are some great guided tours available, for example I used this one in 2012: http://www.juliatravel.com/en/escorted-tours-1.html
